    About us


    Permanent Committee of Counter Terrorism (PCTC) was established on 10/10/1422 H (25 December 2001) as a national contact point to receive and consider requests submitted to the Kingdom from countries, international organizations and relevant bodies of compacting against terrorism and its financing.

    In accordance with Anti-Terrorism and Financing of Terrorism System issued by Royal Decree No. M/21 dated 12 /02 /1439H corresponding to 01 /11 / 2017, the Permanent Committee of Counter Terrorism (PCTC) are responsible for the following:

    • To coordinate and periodically review the national policies in the field of counter-terrorism and its financing, and take necessary measures and develop them based on international commitments, requirements, and developments.
    • To assess and periodically update the risks and financing of terrorism in general based on international commitments, requirements, and developments and coordinate the assessment with the relevant bodies.
    • To receive requests from other countries, bodies and organizations related to Security Council resolutions about countering terrorism or its financing.
    • To develop and update mechanisms and to take the necessary measures and actions to implement the relevant Security Council resolutions, which includes the resolutions 1267(1999)، 1989(2011)، 2253 (2015)، 1988(2011)، 1373(2001) and subsequent relevant resolutions.
    • To classify names of individuals and entities on national lists for crimes of terrorism or financing and to take action against the classification of individuals and entities on the unified list of the Security Council Committee (1267/1989/2253) and the unified list of the Security Council Committee (1988).
